Internships With Herbein

Interning at Herbein + Company, Inc. provides you with valuable experience and insight into the public accounting world. While every internship differs, you can be sure that at Herbein you’ll work on actual client engagements and have full access to our professionals who will show you the ropes. Herbein offers a flexible schedule to work around your curriculum. This internship is a paid position and we will support any documentation required for academic credit.

Timing and Applications

Position Summary
Your tax internship will encompass a variety of different things. You will be a welcomed member of our tax department and be included in our firm staff meetings and activities. Your responsibilities may include any of the following:

  • Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns
  • Preparation of individual tax returns
  • Interpret raw data from client’s files and input into tax software
  • Prepare and maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules
  • Work with federal government forms in tax system

Upon starting you will receive comprehensive training from Herbein tax professionals. You will report directly to a tax supervisor but will have full access to all levels within the firm, including partners – for any questions.

You can look forward to our tax season events such as massages, the Herbein invitational (where we turn the firm into a mini golf course), annual ice cream social (where the partners serve everyone ice cream) and more!

Requirements

  • Sophomore-Senior year
  • Scheduled to take or have taken a tax course
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • 25 hours a week minimum
  • Accounting or Finance Major
  • Proficient with technology
  • Must exercise complete confidentiality
